On June 15th 2016, an eclectic group of 40 visionaries, venture capitalists, medical and service professionals, thought leaders, academics, executors, all came together at Stanford University to brainstorm simple innovative ideas to improve the standard of living in a rural community - to create an IDEAL village.
Science for Society's second annual working team congregated along four major tracks - education, healthcare, energy and food/water/waste management. Vibha was represented by Director of Fundraising Programs, Vinu Srivatsan, alongside AGK Karunkaran President & CEO of Pratham, Shiva Patibanda, VP & CTO of TV Platforms at Ericsson, Priya Socar, CEO of TeachAIDS, and Dr Dan Wessner, Professor of Politics, among other stalwarts.
In representing Vibha, Ms Srivatsan spoke about our mission and working model, emphasizing the simple, scalable approach in improving performance, engaging parents and community, empowering teachers, and holding the State and corporations accountable for social improvement. As examples of effective projects, we used projects like Sikshana, RMKM, DSS, Vidyarambham.
